Haven: The Sundered World
Dwarves an old race that desire nothing but the sound of gold clinking and the sight of sparkling gems. The aesthetics don’t please a dwarf unless there are some valuable minerals worth pilfering. Within their mountain kingdoms the dwarves live isolated lives as xenophobic that highly mistrust outsiders. The only creatures they care to ever risk relations with are humans, with whom they usually conduct trade. Ancient as they are they are dwarves are a dieing race on Benervia due to the emergence of Dark Elves below the surface, the raiding of the Hobgoblin hordes and the eruption of a volcano flooded many of their last few cities. Dwarves have always mistrusted magic, but with their enemies wielding it against them, their distrust has turned to hatred for all things arcane.
Dwarven Lands: Only few lands still remain in the hands of the dwarves, when once they had a large kingdom beneath the surface, now they only hold their city-state of Thromangar and its few villages. Their realm now is riddled with the few mines that they believe are still safe enough to venture into. Below ground their cities are heated by geothermic heat and the hot springs that heat their caverns. Rarely ever will an individual see other races in the city-state because of their dislike for other races, all but for human priests that have come to spread the word of Satoris.
Only in the cit-state of Arkomat do the dwarves fully let down their defenses to the other races and choose to live alongside others. There they choose to live in harmony, being masons and smiths to others (and enjoying the profit that comes in).
