Haven: The Sundered World
Tone of the Sundered World
The torn world of Haven has a tone that is all but its own. It takes portions of all our favorite things and combines it all together into an entirely new entity. Inspiration for the setting came from so many different forms of media its nigh impossible to list everyone of them specifically. Haven combines your futuristic star ship space operas, a biblically inspired war between holy entities and the dark adventure of sword and sorcery.
With a rich and horrible history Haven has survived its near destruction at the hands of the the war between Hell and Heaven. Here in the cosmos lays the broken shards of a world with which now Kingdoms and Empires have prospered upon. Colonies are now in the making as kingdoms use their shardships to claim new plots of territory. It is age ripe with exploration, with remnants still fighting the demonic conflict and with ancient secrets that have been untouched since the world ripped itself apart.
Despite the presence of shardships, magic is a thing held with with awe and deep skepticism. There are few places in which it is practiced without scrutiny or even times, death. If it weren’t for the sanctums for magic users on Benervia many would be murdered by the peasantry feared as witches and sorcerers. Only the mysterious Ergosi wizards of Falador are held at a level of tolerance on Benervia.
